While we were a child, we had dreams of becoming a doctor, an engineer, a pilot, a fireman. Then only to get caught up with opinions from relatives/friends that ‘this’ or ‘that’ way is best, caught up in doing what ‘others’ think is best, caught up in the flow of life. Without proper focus and direction, this can indeed be a very chaotic, ‘noisy’ and confusing time. Without proper guidance, it is as if we have let our one (AND ONLY) precious life to chance. ‘Going with the flow’ as the layman would term it. Many just settle for what ‘comes their way’ and hopefully then settle for a stable job in a stable company; get a car and a home, have some kids and then some. We are living in an era in what economist’s term as the ‘Information Age’. Information Age is a term that has been used to refer to the present era, generally beginning within ten years of 1990. The name refers to the global economy's shift in focus away from the production of physical goods(as exemplified by the industrial age) and towards the manipulation of information especially by computers. In the information age there is an abundance of information from a multitude of sources. Information is so readily available at an instant with the click of a button. The pace of life has increased so dramatically and at times we now struggle to cope. With the overload of information we may fail to focus our attention and simply allow ourselves to be buried in the mountain of data which in the end can be of absolute waste.
